Lesson #150,158-When I Was a Kid...

150, 158-When I Was a Kid...

Okay, so when I was a kid, boy oh boy, were times very different.  No, we didn't have cell phones.  We had a phone in the kitchen with a 20 ft. cord so my Mom could cook dinner and talk on the phone at the same time.  It had a dial on it.  It was olive green.  It was the only phone in the house until I was about 10-years old and then there was one in the living room and my parent's bedroom.  Still had a dial on the phone though.  We didn't get "push button" phones until I was a teenager.
Olive Green Rotary Telephone by DVintageTreasures on Etsy, $40.00
We never had cable TV in my house growing up.  We lived out in the country and cable hadn't been buried out that far yet.  We had 4 channels.  NBC, ABC, CBS and an independent TV station, now a Fox station.  Sure, we could have gotten a satellite dish in the 80's but my Dad didn't see the sense in spending money on TV stations.
Remember the time when you only had 5 working channels that didn't require banging on the tv and repositioning the antennae.
I didn't have cable TV until I went away to college.  Our dorm was equipped with FREE cable!!  I was so excited to have 20 channels!!  Funny thing was, we hardly ever watched TV in college and when we did we watched the same stations that I had always watched.

We didn't grow up with computers.  Windows were what we looked out of, not icons on our computer.  When we needed to do a report, essay, term paper or research, we had to go to the library and look it up in an encyclopedia.  In college, we used microfilm.  There was a card catalog in the library and we all knew how to use the Dewey Decimal System.  I bet if you asked a kid nowadays if they know what Dewey Decimal is, they would say "Who?".
Panasonic Word Processor.
Once we  finished our research, we used typewriters to type our papers.  My roommate in college had her very own word processor.  It was awesome!!  It even had an eraser tape!!  Bye, Bye White Out!!  If she was using it, I had to go to the library and use a typewriter.  I didn't like using the typewriters.  I had to use White Out a lot!!

I could never have imagined, in my wildest dreams, that 25 years later we would be so dependent on items that were not even available back then.  If I leave the house without my cell phone, I panic.  What did our parents do in carpool line rather than look at a phone and checking emails?  Oh, that's right.  They MADE us ride the bus!!  How did they know what to do all day long without constant texts from people telling us what to do next?  Oh, that's right.  They made a "To Do" list and went by that.  If it wasn't on the list, it didn't get done until the next day, when a phone call was made letting them know what to do.  What if a child was sick and a parent couldn't be reached at home or at work?  Oh, that's right.  We went to the nurses office and the nurse would tell us to suck it up until one of our parents could be reached or we would be sent back to class.  When we got home, if we forgot a book at school, that was just too bad.  My parents wouldn't drive back to the school to save my butt.  I should have remembered to bring all materials home with me.  What if I had left something at home that I had forgotten and didn't bring to school?  Same thing.  I got a big, fat ZERO on the assignment because my parents wouldn't bring it to me, the teacher wouldn't let us go to the office and use the phone to call home for it and the teacher wouldn't let us turn it in the next day.  If the assignment was due on Tuesday, it wouldn't be accepted on Wednesday.  No, my parents and teachers weren't terrible people.  That's just the way it was.  This would not go over well with today's helicopter parents!!!!

A "Tweet" was something that a bird did.  A "Post" was something that held up a fence or a sign.  A "Wall" wasn't something to write on.  (You would get into BIG trouble for that!!)  A "Feed" involved eating.  "Text" was something in a book that you probably didn't want to read.  A "Pin" was something to hem a skirt with.  A "Map" was something that was folded up in the glove compartment and you planned your trip by that map and you had better not miss a turn or you would drive 50 miles out of your way and have to stop at a gas station to figure out where you were supposed to turn.  A "Selfie", "FaceTime" and an "App" wasn't a thing.  We took pictures with a camera and had to wait 7 days to see if they were worthy of being "posted" in a picture frame.  We wrote letters.  We passed notes in class.  We waited for hours by the phone waiting for our boyfriends or a boy we liked to call us. (Back then girls didn't call boys!!)  Yahoo was something that cowboys would say.  Google was something that you did with your eyes.  If you wanted to know the weather, you had better watch the news at 6:00 or 11:00pm and you had to hope that the weatherman was right.  We didn't have spell check.  We had to learn how to write in cursive.  A "Snap Chat" would have been considered a quick talk.  If we wanted to hear a song, we had to call a local radio station and make a request.  Then we would record it on a cassette tape and hope that the DJ didn't talk over the beginning or the end.  A "flash drive" probably would have been someone "mooning" you as they drove past.  A "newsfeed" would have been the teleprompter that a newscaster would read on the news, which back then would have been cue cards.  Your "inbox" was your locker with a note stuck in the vents.

I'm glad that I didn't grow up in a time when social media was a thing.  We had conversations with each other.  If we didn't like someone, we just didn't like them.  We didn't bash them on a "site" (which was a "place") for everyone to see.  We might pass a letter to them to let them know why we didn't like them but the entire world wouldn't be privy to our conversation.

Wow.  Life sounds pretty darn primitive back then.  Yeah, I'm okay with that.  Life was much simpler back then.  Being plugged in 24/7 ain't what it's cracked up to be.  Just try to take a nap with your cell phone in the same room.  Impossible.

Lesson #15,119-Facebook Rules and Regulations by Susan

Okay, so my friend Susan Radford started a list of rules that she wishes everyone would follow on Facebook and it looks like most people agree!  She is allowing me to share them with my readers in hopes to get the word out!  You may recognize Susan from movies and series TV.  She is our little movie star!!  Being an extra in blockbuster movies like The Hunger Games and IronMan 3 among others.  She is also on Homeland and Banshee.  Oh and then she has a real job as co-owner of English Aesthetics.  If your face needs pampering, and you live in the Monroe, NC area, give her a call!!

Anyway, back to the rules.  Here goes:

facebook2

Facebook rules (or should be):

1. Don't hijack a post. So, you're participating in a thread...let's say it's about an upcoming vacation, when from out of nowhere someone pops in and yells "HEY I NEED TO CHANGE CARPOOL WEEKS!!!!!!". It really brings the party down. Which brings me to...

2. DON'T POST IN ALL CAPS...it's obnoxious. Or Even Worse Is Posting With Just The First Letter In Caps. Why, just why?

3. One upping. "So sorry your roof fell in and you have pneumonia and and you've got to put granny in the nursing home...let's talk about MY problems...I have 12 sick children, hubs lost his job AND my eyelashes all fell out last night".

4. Dear God, even if you are passionate to the extreme about your cause, job, kids, etc, in the name of all that is holy, don't update your status every 32 seconds. Trust me, you lose people this way.

5. My personal favorite...posting about someone or some situation in a vague, cloudy, passive aggressive, negative way. "Some people need to watch what they say in front of my cousin or certain people are going to be sorry". What?!

6. !!!!???:))))???!!!:-)))  Too many of those. Ok, add on some hahaha's and that is me actually:))

7. Constant, hourly Democrat/Republican bashing...we get it!!!!

8. Posts like this "I am so sad today"...Then you refuse to say why even after 47 of your friends have begged you to explain. If you just want some attention I will take you to Alice Jules for some coffee and a good cry.

9. If you look great in the picture and my cellulite is showing and you don't crop me out I will hunt you down.

10. Status updates that are too wordy.

11. Give a spoiler alert when you are about to spoil something for somebody. Some of us are waaaay behind on our TiVo'ing or DVR'ing or what have you. I DO NOT want to hear who died on Downton Abbey!!

12. I know that what you are selling is the greatest thing ever for health, wealth, happiness and weight loss but please post the majority of that stuff on your business page!

13. Feel free to brag on your spouse and children when they deserve it...if they are pieces of crap it's kinda on you...you picked 'em or raised 'em.

14. Selfies...seriously? How many pictures per day is appropriate to post of yourself? Nobody's arm looks good in those pics anyway.

15. So, I'm sitting here unsuspecting, eating a corndog and up pops an emaciated dog picture:((( I will send a check to your charity if you just give me a heads up.

16. Dogs, kitties, babies, dancing old people, toes in the sand, weddings, vacations, sports, awkward family photos, People of Walmart = good in my book.

17. "Likes" competition...you know you do it. "Ha! My child got 72 likes and yours only got 68"...sad.

18. Pinterest...I have craft envy but I am entirely too lazy to figure out how to join, pin, participate...whatever you call it!

19. This is sort of in the same category as one upping but more macabre...if you have some insider information that something bad has happened to someone, don't spill it until you determine whether or not loved ones have been informed. We all like to have a scoop but family members shouldn't find out that Peepaw died via Facebook.

20. Checking in. If your daily check in looks like this: Egg McMuffin at Micky D's, Whopper Jr.and fries at Burger King, hot dog all the way at Cookout...you are eating too much fast food AND you need to find more interesting places to visit. Unless you are a franchise owner and you are trying to get higher Google ratings, in which case, carry on.

21. Busy and bored. It was pointed out to me that if you have time to post that you are "too busy", you can't be all that busy. That doesn't bother me as much as "bored". If you post that you are bored you deserve to have every head of every nonprofit in your area send you a message asking you to work on a fundraiser. If you say no you best never post you are bored again.

22. Snopes.com...use it people!! "The definitive source for urban legends, folklore, myths, rumors, and misinformation". Especially you Facebook newbies...you'll run across some intriguing story that you can't wait to repost, not realizing it was debunked about 5 years ago, makes the rounds regularly and probably infects your, and all your friends computers with a freaking virus that will make you go impotent and your computer explode...see, that's the kind of misinformation I was talking about.

23. Conspiracy theories...love 'em. Very entertaining stuff. Don't enjoy the arguments however, that inevitably ensue when some idiot takes offense to the FACT that a tribe of Amazonian women have been recruited and trained by the US Government to infiltrate the headquarters of the New World Order to prepare for the upcoming alien invasion, or some such thing.

24. Outlaw all athletic updates..."Just completed my daily 40 mile run and feeling so energized...think I'll get on the old mountain bike and do the entire Appalachian Trail"!! You people seriously make me feel fat and lazy...I'd come whip your a** but I'm too tired.

25. Music posts...nothing better than scrolling down the feed and coming across old Bob Seger concert footage. Or Def Leppard, or Ronnie James Dio, or whomever you love:)

26. Remodeling/decorating posts...I'm a fan even though it makes me feel horribly inadequate and only inspires me to immediately put a for sale sign in the yard.

27. I forgot to mention that all these "rules" pretty much only apply to women. If you look at a man's posts they are almost entirely sports related, except for the ones WE put on there...you know, like pictures of their children doing something brilliant or memes that basically call them inconsiderate slobs. I'd be willing to bet big money that 96% of the posts on my husband's wall are somehow related to the Carolina/Duke rivalry.Which brings us to...

28. Rivalry...Carolina/Duke is kind of like Obama/Various Republicans. No one is going to change anyone's mind about the other, ever. Give up! My husband will never suddenly say "Oh my, I now see the error of my ways, based on your long running diatribe against the Tarheels...I will now root for Coach Krzyzewski's boys".

29. Debbie Downers. You're feeling chipper so you post something like "What a gorgeous day...matter of fact, it's the best day ever" and somebody chimes in "Well, you better enjoy it because tomorrow it's going to be 32 degrees, raining, with volleyball sized hail"... or "Enjoy your nice day cause we're all going to pay for this mild winter with the bugs come Spring"...or "I'm glad you like it, makes my allergies flare up something fierce". Wah wah waaaah!!!

30. Stealth posters...you are having a conversation with friends, maybe talking about how you might have had a little too much wine the night before when some stranger pops in with a hangover cure. Who is this person? Are they even my friend? Wait...I know them, and I actually don't really like them, I think. We all have those friends that rarely post but will pop up from time to time and make you realize you might be getting stalked. What's even worse is when they "like" a picture of you that was buried deep in your photo archives so you know they are looking back through your albums. And they don't pick a good picture to like, oh no, they find the worst one out of the 10,000 so it will reappear on your feed for all to enjoy yet again cause you forgot to untag or delete it!!!

31. One word posts..."Pissed!", "Hopeful", "Jerks!", etc. Do tell? This is like obscure vanity plates. I want to hit your car hard from behind if I can't figure out what "HT4MCLVN" means, and I feel the same about one word posts.

32. "Liking" and "Sharing" pictures of items like boots, clothing and jewelry in order to enter contests. Has anyone I know EVER won any of these lovely things, cause some dang body better win those boots that I see 100 times a day, or that monogram necklace or that pretty summer dress!

33. Daily Bible verses....I'm a fan, and you should be too because for some of us, cough cough, it might be our only Bible reading that gets done that day. I will go so far as to say that on more than one occasion, the course of my day has been changed for the better simply by reading a verse.

34. I say this with love in my heart...Libertarians are relentless. They post 100 times a day...and no kitties or puppies in sight. I would never disagree with one because they are too knowledgeable, just ask 'em.

35. There is no 35 because I'm just that ornery.

Thank you for being the guest blogger today, Susan!!  I agree 99%!! ~Colette

Lesson #15,071-Awkward Moments

Awkward moments happen to us all.  Some more than others.  Some on the world's stage and some only a couple of people know about.  Ya know?  Like when you see someone who looks like they are waving at you and you aren't sure if they are waving at you so you give one of those awkward waves.  Then you look around and see her friend coming up behind you.  Yeah, we all have done that! AWKWARD!!
Awkward ...
That awkward moment when you run straight into someone in Target who you cannot avoid talking to.  You came around the corner and your cart almost slammed right into theirs and you see who it is in 0.00001 of a second and you don't have time to duck into the hamster supply aisle. You may even be "friends" with this person on Facebook, Instagram, MySpace, and Linkedin but you may hate that person and here you are stuck in the feminine hygiene aisle with her and you have to quickly choose your poison.  Do you look at this person and smile and be cordial or do you look at her and pretend that you don't even recognize them?  Or you could just go all out and punch her in the face because of her being rude to you in 1989, or was it because she dated your ex, or was it because you heard that she may have said something about you but you aren't really sure?  What to do?  What to do?  AWKWARD!!
Awkward!
That awkward moment when you realize that you are really close to someone who has major life beliefs that differ from yours and you had no idea.  Maybe when you are out with friends getting ready to eat lunch, you bow your heads and start to say a prayer and your friend doesn't close their eyes or bow their head.  You figure it out really quick but what do you do?  If you are me and you don't care one bit about imposing your beliefs on others, you just say your prayer and eat and don't call attention to it.  Or you are sitting there with a group of friends and someone says something about the president in mixed company. And by mixed company, I mean Democrats and Republicans.  You are thinking "Oh crap! What am I going to say?".  You know that you want to say something one way or the other but you aren't sure what to say.  You may do what I do and text the person who is putting their foot in their mouth and just say "Stop talking!!!" or you may just sit back and watch the show!! AWKWARD!!
Awkward...
That awkward moment when your husband comes in and asks "What's for dinner?" and you haven't even thought about it.  Or when he walks in the house and says "How was your day?  What did you do today?" and all you can think of is that 4 hour nap that you took and how the beds aren't even made yet and you don't want him to go upstairs yet so you can quickly make the beds so you send him to take out the trash and you bolt upstairs to do the quick sweep before he misses you!  Oh, you've never done that one?  Well, I never claimed to be Martha Stewart and my beds may not be done before 7:00PM.  AWKWARD!!
awkward!
There are so many awkward moments in life but the worst is when you have made a serious social faux pas.  Such as: Cursing in church, in a parent-teacher conference or when you have someone else's child in your car.  Going to a party where "No Gifts" were on the invitation and you are the only one who doesn't bring a gift.  The world's worst, most awkward moment that has ever been recorded in human history and most people have done it at least once.  That is the dreaded question "So when is your baby due?" and the response is "Oh, I'm not pregnant" and you just want to pass out, drop dead or get called away immediately by the CIA on a secret mission to Siberia.  I have been on both ends of that question and I remember how I felt.  That is the definition of AWKWARD!!!
Awkward...

Life Lesson #15,041-Holy Political Posts, Batman!!

Has anyone else noticed all of the political posts on Facebook?  OMG! I am so over it!  I mean, has anyone ever changed political parties because of a post on Facebook?  Has anyone changed their vote because of political rants?  Have you been blocked by 100 friends?  I think everyone has decided by now who they are voting for so STOP IT!!  I don't have to agree 100% with my choice and disagree 100% with his opponent to vote for who I want to vote for.  Okay, y'all know that I am a Republican and I will be voting for Mitt but that doesn't mean that I agree with him on 100% of the issues.  I don't disagree with B.O. on 100% of the issues.  Just because I am a Republican does not mean that I won't vote for a Democrat.  There are a few that I will always vote for.  Take for example the Attorney General of North Carolina.  His name is Roy Cooper. If you are thankful that there is a National Do Not Call List, you can thank the Attorney General of the great state of North Carolina for that.  I still get tons of calls by law dodging fundraisers but at least it is not constant like it used to be.  Roy Cooper (D) has my vote every time he goes up for re-election.  Also there are a couple of local races that I will vote for the (D) on.  Really, I think everyone should go to this website and see which side of the fence they are really on. It can be very eye-opening!! It is called On The Issues and it is totally non-partisan.  Here is the link:

How to remove political posts from your Facebook News Feed | Articles | Home
Hopefully we can all be "Friends" again in 2 weeks!!  If you are like me, I joined Facebook to catch up with old friends and see what is going on with everyone.  I look forward to seeing endless posts about pets, food and family feuds.  I will not even complain for at least a month about your relentless bragging on your children!! (Who are BRATS, by the way!! The little cuties!)  I look forward to being "Poked" by my high school friend, Zach.  I look forward to seeing birthday wishes to people I hardly know.  I look forward to seeing "Check ins" at CVS and Olive Garden.  I even look forward to the posts that say to "Share if you love Jesus"!  I do love Jesus, I just don't want to "Share" your picture of a rainbow with everyone on my friends list!  Jesus will not deny me entry into Heaven because I didn't "Share" your photo!! Don't pray for my soul!!  I've got it covered! Oh and Facebook will not give a dollar for every "Like" or "Share" to the sick little girl in the picture.  I promise, you can keep scrolling!!

This is a great rule of thumb for all forms of Social Media:

classroom collective • Posts Tagged ‘Facebook’
Oh my Goodness!!! Is that a Blog icon??  Oh no!! There goes my blog!! I will miss you all!!!
Just kidding.  No, my blog isn't always true or helpful or inspiring or necessary or kind.  Sometimes it is just a rant!!  Most of the time it includes lies half-truths.  I really am trying to help humanity by telling y'all what everyone else is thinking but is afraid to say out loud.  Sorry but I wasn't born with that filter thingy.  Anyway, back to rules for everyone but me...Let's be nice to each other.  We are all going to be in it together next month so let's just accept that we all have political, moral and religious beliefs.  Let's not be judgmental of each other and our beliefs.  We don't have to agree on 100% of the issues to be "Friends" so stop fighting about them!!!!  Oh and just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't make them stupid, closed-minded or uneducated.  They just don't agree with you!! Come on November 6th!!!

Life Lesson #15,024-I May Or May Not Be A Horrible Stay-At-Home Mom

Life Lesson #15,024-I May Or May Not Be A Horrible Stay-At-Home Mom.
I'm not sure but I may or may not be very good at my job as a stay-at-home mom.  First of all, I am unclear about the "Stay At Home" part because I feel like I am always on the road.  Maybe we should be called "Stay-in-the SUV" Moms or "Stay-in-the-Minivan" Moms or "Stay-at-the Soccer Field" Moms or Football or Baseball or Volley Ball or Basketball or Dance Studio or Cheerleading or whatever field, court or studio or rink that you happen to spend your life at.  Also, there is the grocery store, Walmart or Target, school functions, parent/teacher meetings, community service, field trips, play dates...Wow, I could go on and on about where Moms travel every day.  We spend a lot of time in the carpool line at school!! We eat, do homework, change clothes, read, have serious talks and super hilarious conversations about bodily functions, all in the car!!
 My mom car

Then there are those Moms who post stuff on Facebook that they are doing during the day and I feel like a total piece of crap.  "Heading to the school with fresh baked muffins for little Joe's class".  "Got a fresh baked pie in the oven for my BFF".  "Can't wait for my husband to get home and see the home made dinner that I made for him".  "I have cleaned the house all day long and made filet mignon for dinner".  Just so y'all know, I hate you all!! I made those Tyson Chicken Breast filet sandwiches for Sunday lunch yesterday.  Why didn't I make a pot roast with carrots and potatoes like a good mama would?  Oh and Thank You Domino's Pizza for dinner last night!! Mwaah!!
I actually vacuumed out the couch a few days ago, because I can't even remember the last time that I did it, and I found cookie parts, pencils, popcorn, a small human being, $100,000 in coins and a Maserati. The Maserati was, unfortunately, a Matchbox Maserati car but I found one!! And how does sand get underneath the cushions?  First of all, we live in North Carolina where there is no sand except for the beach and second of all, who is this person with sandy pants??
Steak Filet Mignon

Then there are those Martha Stewart types who sew.  You know who you are!! I can sew on a button and that's about it.  And when I sew on a button, that bad boy is never, ever coming off again, EVER!! I see Moms who can sew little dresses for their little girls, make window treatments for their house, pillows and even quilts!! I don't even know how to thread a sewing machine much less sew a straight line.  On Pinterest it says that you can make a cute little dress out of a pillow case for a little girl.  I see dresses like this in boutiques selling for $60 and up!!  Why don't I know how to sew?  I could be making pillow case dresses all day long instead of pinning stuff on Pinterest and driving kids around everywhere!! I could hire someone to drive the kids around!!!!

Pillow case dress

Then we Moms feel guilty for having a GNO (Girls Night Out) once a month.  Why do we feel guilty about that?  I mean, we are the ones who do everything for the kids 29 days a month and we ask Dad to pitch in and help for one day a month and we feel guilty and end up getting home before 10:00, usually to find that Daddy hasn't even put the kids to bed yet and has given them Coca-Cola and Pixy Stix and cannot figure out why he cannot control them. Literally the kids are burning down the house and Daddy looks like he has no idea that they have left the house to buy the gas and matches!! And the guys have to have Boys Night Out once a week!! The men come in after midnight and the kids have been asleep for hours and so have we moms!! We know better than to give kids Pixy Stix after 2pm!!
girls night out

Alright, I am probably not the best Mom in the entire world but I have a healthy and happy child who probably doesn't get enough leafy green vegetables in his diet. There is probably more dirt on my floor than I care to admit to but my kid can tell you with 100% certainty that I love him.  I've never forgotten to pick up the carpool kids up from school. I've never left my child in a hot car.  I've never forgotten to feed my kid. I've kept him alive for almost 13 years and I've never had DSS called on me before!! Hallelujah! I must not be too HORRIBLE!  You, probably, are not either!! Go ahead and pat yourself on the back for not being a horrible Mom!! Whoop!! Whoop!!
Mothers love.
But hey, they do need something to tell their therapist about when they are adults.  Can't send 'em to therapy without any material!!

Life Lesson #15,019-Facebook Becomes Too Personal

Life Lesson #15,019-Facebook Becomes Too Personal
Anyone who has a Facebook will agree with today's blog.  You will know "Friends" who post these things and if you see yourself in these examples, PLEASE STOP!!

We all have "Friends" who post about personal family business.  I don't want to know about how much you hate your sister who causes drama.  If you are posting about your sister who causes drama on Facebook, then you are part of the drama.  Family business should be kept "in the family" not made into huge drama on a social network. Once it is "out there" it is "out there" forever!!

There are young people who constantly post pictures of themselves in mirrors.  Young men with their shirts off. (Some men are old enough to know better than to do this!) Young girls posting pictures of themselves with the fish lips!! You are 11 and I know your Mama and I know that she did not allow you to get lip injections so STOP THAT!!  And go clean your bathroom mirror!

There are people who constantly post about their at home businesses.  I am so happy for you if you have your own business and I wish you much success and hope that you are as happy and as rich as you claim to be.  I just don't really care if you make $8,000 a week.  I do not want to join your team!!

There are people who constantly post about their political beliefs.  You are not going to change my mind about who to vote for in the upcoming elections with your political rants.  If anyone doesn't agree with your rants, you get mad.  I have seen posts on my news feed between people who have been friends since preschool and they end up "unfriending" each other over politics.  I mean, who does that?  I am still going to be your friend even if you aren't of the same political persuasion as myself.  I may think you are 100% wrong and you may think that I am 100% wrong.  Just go and vote in November and we will see how it all works out.

Then there are those who post only Bible verses.  I happen to know some of you people very well.  That is not all that you talk about 24/7.  Even my pastor doesn't do that!  Who are you trying to convince that you are a Christian?  Everyone else or yourself?

And then there is the friend who only posts about how there is no God.  Who are you trying to convince? If you don't believe in God, then don't believe but stop trying to convince me.  I believe that there is a God. I don't believe in evolution and you will never convince me otherwise! If I am wrong, so what? If you are wrong, well, that's another story.

Then there are those who only post about their kids.  UGH!! My kids are #1.  My kids are the smartest.  My kids are the cutest.  My kids are the most athletic. My kids are the most talented. My kids...My kids...My kids...STOP IT!!!!  My kid is the smartest, cutest, most athletic and my kid is #1 so stop trying to say that yours is the best!! Haha!! We all think our kid is the best!!  I mean, if your kid gets into Princeton on an academic scholarship and then makes the football, baseball or softball team, please post this because it is wonderful news!!  Your kid just made a base hit in T-Ball.  He or she hasn't made the major leagues just yet.

Last is my biggest pet peeve.  If you do this, please know that EVERYONE has "blocked" your posts from their news feed.  That person who posts every move that they make...
7:32am-Just woke up.  Good morning Facebook Friends!
